Standard SMD chip component sizes (resistors, capacitors, inductors)
Chip package codes use Imperial (EIA) or Metric naming. The EIA code represents length × width in hundredths of an inch (e.g., 0805 = 0.08" × 0.05"). The metric code represents length × width in tenths of a millimeter (e.g., 2012 = 2.0mm × 1.2mm). The most commonly used sizes for hand soldering are 0805 and 1206.
